Can you add traits to the bloodline outside of species creation? For example, if my species has the Saurien bloodline with learned defense and Saurien quickness as bloodline traits, can I later add another trait, such as primitive Saurien, using progression points?
Also, using the example above, if one of my classes has a different bloodline than my main species, can I do the same? For example, if one of my classes has the Tuatara bloodline with instinctive defense as a bloodline trait, can I later add increased skill to that class’s bloodline?
Under Reptilia Bloodlines on page 54 it says, “Bloodline Traits stack within their Lineage traits.” This presumably means that bloodline traits do NOT stack with traits outside of their lineage. For example, the Saurien bloodline grants Increase Willpower 1. If I took ‘Cunning Mind 3pts: Increase Willpower 1’ from the Draconic Lineage, this would NOT stack with the Saurien bloodline Willpower increase, resulting in an overall +1 Willpower rather than +2 Willpower. Is this correct?
What's Skilled Attack 2 as referenced on page 61 under Tuatara 1st tier traits? It seems like it should be on page 176 of the abilities index but I don’t see it.
Can classes that don’t have the Draconic bloodline take Regional Draconic Traits? Can classes (and/or species) take traits from multiple regions?
Regional Drake Traits are separate from the 1st tier/2nd tier hierarchy, correct?
Does natural armor reduce Willpower for the purposes of Wizardry the same way worn armor does? Does natural armor reduce Command for the purposes of Sorcery the same way worn armor does?
I want to make sure I understand natural weapons and natural armor correctly. Based on the wording on pages 124-125, it looks like natural weapons/armor add properties to a class based on their value, in addition to any properties the base ability might have. For example natural armor 2 adds 2 properties, Bite 3 adds 3 properties, and Coil Attack 1 adds 2 properties (1 properties built in to the Coil Attack ability). Is this correct? Presuming yes, since the Gargoyle bloodline has Natural Armor 1 built in to the bloodline, does it also add properties 1 to all classes that use the Gargoyle bloodline?
For Reptilia species creation, you have to pick 3-6 traits, one of which is (or most likely is) a bloodline. Normally when you’re adding traits to a species or a class, you have to have two 1st tier traits in order to access a 2nd tier trait. And you have to have two 2nd tier traits to access an ancestral trait. However, when you pick traits from the same lineage as your bloodline, a 2nd tier trait only requires one 1st tier trait. And an ancestral trait only requires one 2nd tier trait. Is this correct?
Assuming the above is correct, let’s say that I pick the Saurien bloodline as my species bloodline, and that I pick one 1st tier Saurien trait and one 2nd tier Saurien trait as species traits. Then, during class creation, let’s say I pick the Tuatara bloodline as a class trait, replacing the Saurien bloodline. Does this Tuatara class still have access to the 2nd tier Suarien trait that I picked during species creation, even though it only has one 1st tier Saurien trait? Based on the START HERE: REPTILIA rules on page 54, I would think that the Tuatara class does NOT have access to the 2nd tier Saurien trait since it no longer meets the prerequisites for it.
Continuing with the above example and presuming the Tuatara class does not have access to the 2nd tier Saurien trait, if I also give the Tuatara class a 1st tier Saurien trait, so that it now has two 1st tier Saurien traits, does it now have access to the 2nd tier Saurien trait that I picked during species creation? I would think yes since it now meets the prerequisites for the 2nd tier trait.
That is correct. In general for all domains- Increases do not stack with traits outside their branch. So traits from one evolutionary branch to another do not stack.
Increases are permanent bonuses to characteristics or other things.
Enhancements stack with any others. These are most often in-game bonuses that are situational or from equipping weapons and armor.
both Increases and Enhancements are individually limited by the Maximum Age bonus. So you could not do increases above 4 for the 1st Age, but you could get an Increase Strength 3 from a trait and then get an Enhancement Strength 2 from a weapon, power, or natural weapon. It can be rather hard to do this.
