Natural Weapons and Morphs are frying my brain.
-Under the natural weapons section, each is listed with an x Pts cost. Do I need to add that cost to the model (With x presumably being the value of the ability) to the faction or class?
-How exactly do morphs work? Are they limited by the ability value of the weapon or armor? E.g. If I have claws 1, I can only take morphs with value x and not x + 1?
-Are Morphs adding to or replacing the weapon enhancement? Are the weapons enhancements considered part of properties? (If I've got Max Properties 3 And Claws 3, Does that mean no morphs can be added?)
-Can multiple morphs be added?
Please save me.
Was working on that video this morning.
Natural Weapons/Defenses are your base weapon. The X point cost comes from trait selection.
Morphs are adding to the Natural Weapons and Defenses. You can add multiple morphs to a single weapon to customize it. Every addition increases the properties value by 1 or by the listed amount. Mostly limited to your imagination.
Properties is the only limitation to how much can be added to your natural weapon. The Maximum Properties allowed on an item is listed with each class.
For example.
I take Talons 1 for 5pts from somewhere
*Talons 1
This gives me an enhancement to Piercing 1
Properties total so far: 1
I find a morph I want to add to my claws.....
*Corrosive 1. So I take the trait for the point cost listed with the trait (20pts for example from a trait)
I now have Corrosive Talons which sounds awesome as this will really shred through armor. Corrosive adds X+1 properties so 2 properties for Corrosive 1.
My Corrosive Talons are quite nasty, but have a total properties of 3. Which really means it wont be on my level 1 classes most likely without some series upgrades to he class. On a level 3 Class though these Corrosive Talons will really rip apart heavily armored warriors and do extra damage to those that have no armor.
If I wanted to add additional morphs, its quite possible if I have some room on properties allowed.
Natural Weapons/ Defenses, Powers, and Armory Equipment all use properties to balance how you customize your gear. Of course there are ways to increase the maximum number of properties within some domains through traits or class upgrades.
Thanks!
The biggest confusion was the interaction between Morphs/Weapon X and properties.
This also coincidentally explains the insekts Neurotoxin 0 in a way that makes sense as well.
