Hybrid traits

Question

Is the Hybrid trait like forbidden lore where your classes can take it but takeing different traits with it?

I have hybrid in my faction and also want my classes to take it for different traits.

And is Advanced hybrid the trait to take when your trying to make creatures in classical monsters Branch.

There are a couple differences between Hybrid Traits and Forbidden Lore. Forbidden LoreForbidden Lore does two things starting with ignoring prerequisites for the chosen trait only for the class that takes it. Meaning the class that takes it can take a 2nd Tier Trait and just about anything that specifically does not prohibit this ability. That means from just about anywhere.The Second thing it does, is unlocks the branch, tier, sphere, etc for the rest of your faction. They have to follow the rules of the domain and do not ignore prerequisites. Also note that Forbidden Lore comes from Class Traits.Hybrid TraitsHybrid Traits all have peculiarities that have slight differences to them, so a Fey Hybrid X and Monster Hybrid X will not necessarily operate the same. Things they have in common......... Only models (factions/classes) with the ability can select their Hybrid bonus traits equal to X, and take further traits within the branch (if allowed- most do this but not all -each hybrid is different). Hybrid does not allow other classes to take traits from the chosen branch without the ability, as this ability only applies to them. If you take a hybrid trait as a Faction Trait, you will be selecting the bonus traits for your faction (and it applies to the entire faction). Note that the Hybrid Bonus traits do not allow you to break with prerequisites. So you will be taking 1st Tier Traits to unlock 2nd Tier Traits etc, just as you would if you were part of the faction.Advanced Hybrid is just being able to select your choice of Hybrid Ability. Most Hybrid options are found in the Monsters of Myth and Legend. Others are scattered throughout domains.Both Forbidden Lore and Hybrids essentially give access to other domains, but the differences can be quite different. If you were going for an entire faction I would suggest Forbidden Lore. For a single class or two, hybrids tend to be quite popular. Although tbh, I have gone both directions depending upon how I want my faction to feel and it's backstory.

I'm looking to make a parasitic type faction between Fey/insekt. I'm kinda trying to make it themed off Stephan kings The Mist.Tried starting in Fey, then looked at Insekt and now looking at Monster of myth and legend.

I was thinking madness/corruption aswell but also ethereal to give it that Mist thematic. Insekt would be more robust with different species being able to be selected for classes.And some access to sphere of influence and forbidden lore Plus they already get Natural weapons. ( does sound the best way to go)

Hmmmm. Great Concept. My first thought is Fey as well. Perhaps focusing on Corruption and Madness. When creating a Level 3 Archlord, take Forbidden Lore and jump your faction into an Insekts Classification. Could easily go Insekt though. After reading through stories and the creatures from The Mist, it definitely looks like Insekt would be the way to go. They have a lot of the different forms I read about plus having great access to Monsters of Myth and Legends will create some very unique classes.
