More questions! Forbidden lore allows you to pick a single branch of life to make it available for your faction.
Now, if I pick for this branch to be the humanoid adaptive species branch, that means my faction can pick the T1 traits Adaptive Species, and Quick Reflexes.
Adaptive species gives adaptive mutation and says that for 1pt+the cost of the chosen trait, you can pick any trait from a branch of Environmental Adaptations to form a single trait.
If I do this, does that mean I just basically granted my faction the opportunity to pick from all the environmental adaptation traits (assuming they pick t1 and/or t2 adaptive species/flexibility to go along with it)...? It feels like this isn't -intended- to be the case, and that adaptive species is supposed to be a species trait? It currently isn't.
Not an error. There are plenty of opportunities like that meant to create give you lots of options. At one point..... years ago during playtesting, Adaptive Mutation and the like were limited as species only traits. Cant recall if that was before the open beta or not.
You do pay a point "penalty" for it with every model you field. It adds up.
Good way to get Military Weapons into your other domains, and other weapons. Have like one level 3 class that grants technology insight into the rest of your faction. Its always fun discovering some new route to create what you have envisioned in your head. Its why its rather rare for people to make the same faction even if they have the same concept in their heads.
I asked about adaptive mutation a few days ago, maybe that thread answers your
